Just musingHi all. I'm back again with musings. I trie to post a few minutes ago but something didn't take. Yesterday, July fourth was great. Well good anyway, Terra and I went to the apartment barbecue in the morning, Tina our manager did a fine job with hotdogs, polish sausage and Hamburgers. Later I went to the churche's soup or during the summer salad supper. It's held once a month. We had some great salads and pizza. Usually Wanda makes the pizza but I think this time she got it at Chucks Pizza. That's a place in Rosamond that delivers as well as sells at the restaurant. They just changed owners and are bringing in some inovative ideas. I especially like their Roadrunner pizza, their Grilled chicken salad--which can feed two or more if you order the large, and their sandwiches. They also have dessert pizzas like cinamon and other flavors maybe comin soon.
Has anyone ever heard ofadvertising webservice? Istarted to sign up for a free trial. you pay $5 for two weeks and they launch an add campaign for you. If you don't cancel it's $64 a month. I can't afford that but they sent me an email saying
http://www.ff4w.net has real potential and as an extra incintive they will post us in a business directory of local businesses.
I would think if they viewed the site they would see we wouldn't be a cash cow for them.
The cheerful givers at present is made up of four blind people and one disabled person, all living on fixed incomes.
Now that's not saying some of us aren't trying to become employed! Kimber is greaduating from massage school next month so she will soon be working, Terra is training to become an Accesstechnology instructor to teach computer skills to blind and disabled people who use computers and accessible technology, and I am pursuing my master's degree in Rehabilitation from San Diego State University.
I just finished my first class with an A 96.85 points out of 100. What a blessing. Many were praying for that and I thank you.
I am taking a class about cultures and how they differ this term, the second class a fieldwork cours I had to hold off on because I need an internship which I don't have yet.
I'm trying to get one through the Lancaster Department of Rehabilitation but it will take time.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if through the relay for life I met some other agenciesI could intern with and maybe work for?
Terra wants to move to Nashville to be near her mom and maybe we will do that if I can find a job there when I greaduate.
Candy sells for the relay are moving we still have a lot left but it's only Terra and I doing it. The church members bought quite a bit and we sold some in front of Albertson's. We also advertised in our apartment bulletin,Wanda sold lot's to Chuck's Pizza and my mom just sold a case. Frank, my brother in the flesh, one of the team members bought about $34 worth but he says an invisible man in his refridgerator ate it.
Yah right! Can't blame him though it's good!
We are really trying to get new team members. Last year Terra and I joined an existing team, Jill's All Starrs. Terra met Jill at orientation day and was very impressed with her. So we joined her team. This year though we decided to form one of our own. We don't have the advantage of subliminal advertising so members are harder to come by.
I ran the add you saw in a previous post last Sunday in the Antelope Valley press, but it hasn't generated anything. I guess you have to advertise more than once to be affective. We were on page 4 a very small add, we paid $31 for it. I don't have the funds to really advertise and if candy sells don't pick up I could take a big loss financially. I think God will take care of that, but I have to advertise responsibley. I know if we had ten to twenty team members the candy would've been gone. World's finest chocolate is a great product so are the lollipops and efundraising.com is a great company. Our representative is Paula Lane.
Online you can help by helping us get donations we are aproaching $400 and we want to raise $2000. If the candy sells we will have about $800. We hope to sell at the relay too, maybe some little toys or something so if you want to donate sells items or prizes for our online incintive opportunity contact me at mike@mikesmaze.net.
Mike's maze is our personal website where we provide lots of information about the church of Christ. It has nothing to do with the American Cancer Society nor do we ask any money for our efforts, it's a labor of love.
I want to form a local chapter of the National Federation of the Blind in the Antelope Valley, but I need eight to ten blind people to get it started.
If you know anyone in the Antelope Valley who could be interested feel free to have them contact me.
mike@mikesmaze.net
We don't want to duplicate the mistake of our relay team, the NFB does lots of fundraising for college schoolarships and for advocacy work etc.

http://www.nfb.org
If we have ten members Terra and I won't have to carry the whole load. We can build from there.
If you have any suggestions to help us make our relay team site more affective please contact me.
Thanks for reading!
God Bless & Have a great day!
Mike
