Just musingHi all. I'm back again with musings. I trie to post a few minutes ago but something didn't take. Yesterday, July fourth was great. Well good anyway, Terra and I went to the apartment barbecue in the morning, Tina our manager did a fine job with hotdogs, polish sausage and Hamburgers. Later I went to the churche's soup or during the summer salad supper. It's held once a month. We had some great salads and pizza. Usually Wanda makes the pizza but I think this time she got it at Chucks Pizza. That's a place in Rosamond that delivers as well as sells at the restaurant. They just changed owners and are bringing in some inovative ideas. I especially like their Roadrunner pizza, their Grilled chicken salad--which can feed two or more if you order the large, and their sandwiches. They also have dessert pizzas like cinamon and other flavors maybe comin soon.
Has anyone ever heard ofadvertising webservice? Istarted to sign up for a free trial. you pay $5 for two weeks and they launch an add campaign for you. If you don't cancel it's $64 a month. I can't afford that but they sent me an email saying
http://www.ff4w.net has real potential and as an extra incintive they will post us in a business directory of local businesses.
I would think if they viewed the site they would see we wouldn't be a cash cow for them.
The cheerful givers at present is made up of four blind people and one disabled person, all living on fixed incomes.
Now that's not saying some of us aren't trying to become employed! Kimber is greaduating from massage school next month so she will soon be working, Terra is training to become an Accesstechnology instructor to teach computer skills to blind and disabled people who use computers and accessible technology, and I am pursuing my master's degree in Rehabilitation from San Diego State University.
I just finished my first class with an A 96.85 points out of 100. What a blessing. Many were praying for that and I thank you.
I am taking a class about cultures and how they differ this term, the second class a fieldwork cours I had to hold off on because I need an internship which I don't have yet.
I'm trying to get one through the Lancaster Department of Rehabilitation but it will take time.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if through the relay for life I met some other agenciesI could intern with and maybe work for?
Terra wants to move to Nashville to be near her mom and maybe we will do that if I can find a job there when I greaduate.
Candy sells for the relay are moving we still have a lot left but it's only Terra and I doing it. The church members bought quite a bit and we sold some in front of Albertson's. We also advertised in our apartment bulletin,Wanda sold lot's to Chuck's Pizza and my mom just sold a case. Frank, my brother in the flesh, one of the team members bought about $34 worth but he says an invisible man in his refridgerator ate it.
Yah right! Can't blame him though it's good!
We are really trying to get new team members. Last year Terra and I joined an existing team, Jill's All Starrs. Terra met Jill at orientation day and was very impressed with her. So we joined her team. This year though we decided to form one of our own. We don't have the advantage of subliminal advertising so members are harder to come by.
I ran the add you saw in a previous post last Sunday in the Antelope Valley press, but it hasn't generated anything. I guess you have to advertise more than once to be affective. We were on page 4 a very small add, we paid $31 for it. I don't have the funds to really advertise and if candy sells don't pick up I could take a big loss financially. I think God will take care of that, but I have to advertise responsibley. I know if we had ten to twenty team members the candy would've been gone. World's finest chocolate is a great product so are the lollipops and efundraising.com is a great company. Our representative is Paula Lane.
Online you can help by helping us get donations we are aproaching $400 and we want to raise $2000. If the candy sells we will have about $800. We hope to sell at the relay too, maybe some little toys or something so if you want to donate sells items or prizes for our online incintive opportunity contact me at mike@mikesmaze.net.
Mike's maze is our personal website where we provide lots of information about the church of Christ. It has nothing to do with the American Cancer Society nor do we ask any money for our efforts, it's a labor of love.
I want to form a local chapter of the National Federation of the Blind in the Antelope Valley, but I need eight to ten blind people to get it started.
If you know anyone in the Antelope Valley who could be interested feel free to have them contact me.
mike@mikesmaze.net
We don't want to duplicate the mistake of our relay team, the NFB does lots of fundraising for college schoolarships and for advocacy work etc.
see
http://www.nfb.org
If we have ten members Terra and I won't have to carry the whole load. We can build from there.
If you have any suggestions to help us make our relay team site more affective please contact me.
Thanks for reading!
God Bless & Have a great day!
Mike

Your a winner! or could be soon.
Win cash Apple Ipods, & Amazon gift certificates.
I know this works, my brother Frank signed up as my refferral and Sunday he won $10 Amazon gift cert.
I've won before here and so has my wife Terra.
http://www.winzy.com/its-mike
It's worth checking out.
Winzy is a search engine and that's basically all you do up-to 50 times a day. They have games that come up. The games give you more points and if you don't play in the arcade you can't loose. If however you like added risk the arcade allows you to gamble your points.
If you join sign up as many friends as possible that will give you more points and more prizes when they win. Try to sign up at least one friend each month so you get in the monthly special drawing.
This is the only prize-winning search engine I use on a regular basis currently.
The other one search chips closed until next year when the new owners are suposed to bring it back.
If you want more information about winzy write me. I'll be glad to help.
Again that link is

What a summer! What a summer!Wow. summer is all most ere. Well in CA we kickoff summer with the memorial day weekend. This year promises to be a blast. First Terra and I have tickets to two dodger games. The Los Angeles Dodgers are playing like they really want the pen ant so that should be a forecast for some antastic seball. Than we got a promotion for subscribing to the Daily News Antelope Valley addition. Two tickets to Universal studio in North Hollywood. Terra hasn't been there yet. The antelope Valley Fair promises some great atractions too, Reba Macintyre will be there. We want to go see her but the cost of tickets and transportation probably will prevent that, but it should be a great Saturday night Concert.
Than they have Charlie Daniels and Lone Starr appearing together, the concert is free!
We will probably go to that one.
Of course we have the relay for life September 15 and are you ready for the culmination?
The end of summer ultimate concert looms on our horizon.
Tricia Yearwood is doing a concert in Lancaster the week after our relay!
What a perfect end to summer fun!
She's awesome.

I'm back!
Hi everyone.
It's been awhile. Now Google is in charge of things. New programs new bloggs. wow!
Since we talked last I started working towaards my masters at SDSU in Vocational Rehabilitation. My first class is finishing this week.
It was fun.
Terra and I are doing the "Relay for Life" again this year for the American Cancer society.
It's being held at Antelope Valley College on September 15. We decided to organize a relay team of our own.
"The Cheerful Givers."
Check out the web site:
http://www.ff4w.net
You can donate to any of the team members.
This reminds me. It seems like getting donations for recognized causes on the net should be fairly easy, but either it's not or we're doing something wrong
because with the exception of friends from church and relatives and a few other friends the on line donor thing doesn't work all that well.
I really believe it should.
any suggestions? Any bords we should be posting on?
Maybe someone has had the experience to help us create a more successful fundraising drive.
We are a small team of volunteers though so if you send an offer to employ
an advertising firm that's out. I'm sure they couldn't afford
to do a campaign for the peanuts we have lol.
We are starting a candy fundraiser locally and we've all ready done okay hopefully our candy sale will generate about $400 profit
We're selling World's finest Chocolates andlolli-pops.
The lollipops are kind of cool gourmet flavors 12 and they are shaped like bears.
They are called "pop-a-bears.
Wish us luck bcause Terra and I will be at the local market all this week end.If more of you were local we'd ask for help there too lol
100 degree temps and we go from Friday morning until the candy sale ends or Sunday after noon.
We will be in the shade though so it won't be so bad. but it would be nice to have the full team in place.
We want to raise $2,000 and we want 15 more members we have five.
The reason we want twenty members is because the relay lasts 24-hours and we need to keep someone from our team on the track at all times.
The relay is los of fun, I'll let you know how things progress.
Remember if you have any ideas or want to help
Visit us.
http://www.ff4w.net
there you will find links to the official american cancer society page which has a really long url
it is there though you can click go to that page and donate to the team member of your choice Terra's the cutest--shes my wife I better say that right?
Anyway donations of small new toys like glow in the dark things are also excepted because we will sell them at the relay. Also bigger prizes we can raffle will help and of course donations.
If you donate on the ACS site using your card visa, Mastercard Discover o American express, whatever, a $10 donation is required. If you want to donate a smaller amount you can print out the form and contact us.We can process it for you as if we were collecting in person. Of course if you do the mail thing it's suggested you make checks and or money orders payable
to the american cancer society not to us.
Thanks for reading. I'll post on other topics now that I know how this new program works!
